Prints & Multiples
Our offer includes prints from the Dürer era to the present day, supplemented by multiples from the 20th and 21st centuries.
One of the most famous graphics in art history is Albrecht Dürer's copperplate engraving "Knight, Death and the Devil" from 1513, for which outstanding results were achieved, as were a series of woodcuts from his "Life of the Virgin" and the "Judgment of Paris" by Dürer's contemporary Lucas Cranach the Elder from 1513.
In the classical modern period, outstanding results were achieved for works by Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque and Chagall, the expressionist Otto Dix and members of the artist group "Die Brücke". These included the important early color lithograph "Leonie" by Dix from 1923 (sold for 24,000 euros). A mature late work by Picasso, who tried out all artistic techniques with virtuosity, was the linocut "Le Thé: Deux Femmes nues et un chat" from an edition of 50 from 1965 (sold for 33,000 euros). Chagall's color lithographs are particularly imaginative masterpieces, such as his magnificent 1967 work "Carmen" (sold for 47,000 euros).
The most important protagonists of American Pop Art are Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. In 1968, Warhol created the portfolio "Flash" with 11 signed serigraphs on John F. Kennedy in a total edition of 236 copies (proceeds: 50,000 euros). In addition to the film icon Marilyn Monroe, Warhol's favorite motifs were also motifs from everyday life and advertising culture, such as his series of works "Campbell's Soup", including the color serigraph "Cheddar Cheese" from 1969 (proceeds: 42,000 euros). In 1992, Roy Lichtenstein created the largest limited edition graphic - "Wallpaper with Blue Floor Interior" (proceeds: 45,000 euros).
In the constant offering of contemporary graphics, works by the “Zero Group”, the “Young Wild Ones” and other well-known artists such as AR Penck, Jörg Immendorff, Markus Lüpertz, Elvira Bach, Gerhard Richter and Günther Uecker remain in demand among our collectors.
